How To Make Solar Panel At Home

Solar energy is an profuse and non-renewable source of energy. So why don't we make use of this non-renewable in a better way? The obvious thought that would strike anyone's mind will be the production of electrical energy from solar cells using solar panels/solar cells.

Of course I too agree to the fact that production of electricity using solar cells is perhaps the best option and also helps you in saving your electricity bills to a great extent. But buying solar cells or installing a solar panels from a

merchant by paying $10,000 or more will not be a smart idea when you can build your own solar panel for a meager $200 or lesser.

Well, this is true.

Here is a simple DIY guide to let you know how to make solar panel at home rather than buying one. And one more thing, you need not be a technical geek to build a solar panel

Materials Required:

1. A 16 Volt solar kit.
2. A small rechargeable battery. A 12 volt battery would suffice.
3. A DC meter. (This should match with the voltage of the battery).
4. A battery box.
5. Insulated copper wires.

The solar kit will contain the solar panels or cells that will capture the sunlight and convert it into electrical energy. This can be bought from any hardware stores near you and costs a paltry $75 or less than that. The DC meter ensures that the solar energy collected by the panels is converted into a power supply so that it can be used for different appliances. (Inverters may be required if any of the appliances require an AC supply). The battery box is to place the panels safely and to keep the panels from the reach of children.

Procedure:

The first step is to connect the DC meter to the 12 volt battery using the insulated copper wires. Make sure that you peel the insulated portion of the wires before connecting the two and also ensure that you are connecting the like poles. i.e. negative point of battery to negative point of DC meter and positive of battery to positive of DC meter.
Similarly connect the solar panel to the DC meter and the battery using insulated copper wires. The procedure for connection is same as in the previous step.

The completion of the second step means that your solar panel is ready and all you have to do is to expose the panel to sunlight. You can place it on roof tops, gardens, nears windows etc. Expose it to the sunlight for a minimum of eight hours to obtain the desired results.
